Jasper of Quba Ice interview
Jasper Thompson is the owner of the Quba Ice restaurant commonly know as Jaspers for any who are not aware of someone who is supporter royalty and North Streets top City fan.
Q: How long have you been a City fan?

A:   Since I was twelve [I am now forty nine]. I remember my first game very well v Oxford Utd. They    came into the East End, yellow Doc Martins and Workmen hard hats on, "they got a right shoeing…..

Q:  If you chose a decade to watch City in what would it be?

A:  Seventies and 1976 first game of the season when we beat Arsenal 1-0.

Q:  At the start of the season what were your expectations ?

A:  To go up and had a bet with wining post. They better have the money ready

Q:  Where are City going to finish?

A:  Top [interview was two months ago!!!]

Q:  During the 2005 -2006 season City lost nine consecutive games. Did you look at Johnson and think WTF and what is your opinion now?

A:  Nah, I thought he would get it right, nothing happens over night.

Q:  Most City fans think Steve Phillipps is a weirdo. Does Jasper concur?

A:  Bottler. Should have stayed and fought for his place. "WEIRDO!!

Q:  You a quite a big unit but was being black ever a problem at football in the madder days of the seventies and eighties?

A:   Nah. Been kicking ass since I was eight.

Q:  A lot of your football regulars also watch England abroad. Any appeal to you?

A:   Never been abroad  to watch England yet.

Q:  You had posters in the Windows of Cuba Ice supporting the reopening of the East End and a petition on the bar. Do you think having the East End open makes any difference?

A:   It's the dogs bollocks watching City from the East End.

Q:  Did you ever think Quba Ice would become as popular on match days as it has?

A:  No but I am glad of the trade. Thanks lads.

Q:  You most have had few people coming in for meals unaware that by 2pm the place is mobbed out with sometimes hundreds of City fans?

A:  Most people in the area  know when its match days so they either come before or after. It works well for both parties.

Q:  Quba Ice has a Sunday football team. How are they doing and do they cheat by having ex City professionals playing for them like that pub on  West Street?

A:  Binned due to lazy people not showing up on a Sunday.

Q: You have been spotted dressed as Superman on the last day of the season any theme for Preston?

A:  Nothing planned.

Q: Whose idea was the rather apt Caldwerwood can fcuk off banner?

A: Well myself and Paul from Signmarket. Nice eh?

Q;  The big question. Most sensible blokes think Magners is a crime against the holy apple and that ice in apples is 100% Gayer homo. So is that ice you serve in  Magners really ice or does it come from the urinals?

Q:  I have banned Magners from the bar now as its for girls. Natch only …….

Q:  Anything to add

A:  Gary Johnson is the best thing "ever" to happen to Bristol City and when we get to the Premiership Marvin Elliott will play for England. UP THE CITY.
