Wurzel Reviews
Shamelessly nicked from SUSD some away fans reviews of a day out at Wurzel City. According to the West Brom Kiddie we may have the worst end in the world. If he ever has to endure ninety minutes at the Minimal the poor mite may die from post traumatic stress syndrome.
Bristol City 1 - 1 West Brom

Attendance - 16-16,500 (2,400 + Albion)

Stewarding - One word, Abysmal - possibly the worst away end I have ever been in    , the seats had no backs on them and were low down so the majority of people stood, I was on the front row of the divide (close to the back) and due to a restricted view anyway was at the front of the walkway for every attack to which we were constantly being told to move back resulting in us not seeing so we stood on their excuse for chairs which again didn't go down well.
Policing - Heavy handed IMO, we scored and celebrated like loons they equalised and did the same which resulted in 2 teenagers being grappled to the floor and dragged out by police - chalky it was your stand mate what happened?? police were about afterwards in high numbers and again went in heavy handed to some bristol kids singing outside the ship pub but it was only a bit of banter as that was the way our fans were going to car parks, many cars vans and horses and i think totally un neccessary.
Atmosphere - Considering it was 2,000 short of a sell out The home support was poor until the equaliser, however the fans to our right weren't too bad despite a clear effort from stewards and police to quiten them down, our away support was good pre match a little quiet during the game but great after the goal, main reason is for half the game we were testing a new "best midfield in the world" song what
not many people knew at first.
Facilities - 1 expensive burger van 1.80 cold drink no chips or pies 3.00 burger and there were 4 yes 4 portaloos, embarrasing!! eat before you enter the ground is the best option with a KFC on the retail park.

Bristol City 1 - 0 Stoke City 0

Price - £23 [Unreserved seating]

Attendance - Don't know but around a thousand Stoke fans in the Micra Stand.

Atmosphere - Good in the away end but quiet around the rest of the ground except the Bristol fans to our right occupying a section of the same stand who were constantly noisy all game.

Standing -  Around two hundred Stoke fans stood at the rear of the away end and to our right virtually all of the three to Four hundred Bristol fans.

Other - Bristol Citys Micra Wedlock stand has a poor view, backless seats and other basic facilities but has a great feel and acoustics. Depending on your outlook the away end is either one of the best or worst ends in the Championship.

Policing - Very heavy police presence outside of the stadium which was justified due to large groups of obvious "firm" type Bristol near the ground after the match.

Stewarding - Excellent. Don't stand in the aisles or near the front and you would forget they are even present. Ten out of ten for the  friendly stewards.

Other - Bristol City's Micra Wedlock stand has a poor view, backless seats and dreadful catering. Depending on your outlook the End is one of the very best or one of the very worst but I gave it a 9.5 out of ten.

Bristol City 2 - 1 Southampton

att: 18,732 (at least 3K Saints fans, may have been more)

Standing - All the away fans and the City fans in the Wedlock stood with no attempts to get anyone to sit, unreserved seating as well

Atmosphere - Pretty damn good in the Wedlock from both sets of fans, great stand for noise even though no-one could see f*ck all  occasional little blasts from other stands.

Stewarding - Fine, more concerned with preventing any aggro than enforcing silly rules. Didn't mind people standing in the aisles as long as there was some space left.

Policing - Loads, think there was a need for it TBH as, though I didn't see any trouble, there was many little mobs of blokes running round to where there was obviously stuff going off.
Bristol City 0-2 Leicester

Ticket: Adult £23

Attendance: 15,040 (1600 Leicester)

Atmosphere: Really enjoyable with the low roof and a rare away win. Bristol made plenty of noise to our right as well. Think there was a megaphone there.

Stewarding: stopped people standing in the aisles & walkways but apart from telling fans to stop standing on there seat, which is fair play, they were brilliant 10/10

Policing: Had a helicopter out at 1, which seemed strange as there was no-one around and apart from trying to make the away fans go one way out the stadium on their horses were quite good.

Standing: About 500 of Leicester's support stood all game at the back and then around the sides. Bristol city appeared to have about 400 standing to the right of us.

other: Brilliant ground, top away end. Bristol is one of the weirdest places I've been to!

Bristol City 1-1 Colchester United

Attendance: 16,484 (350 Colchester)

Standing: I am sure somebody from Bristol City can better estimate the amount but I would say 500-700 standing in the middle of the east end, about 200 of our 350 were standing.

Atmosphere: Good from us considering small numbers, even better from them in the middle of the east end, that stand really is good for atmosphere. Struggled to hear ourselves sing at times with the Bristol lads singing but at other times were very loud/

Stewarding: Great stewards in the east end, some of the best in the land, friendly and let everybody stand

Policing: Was only a few about and they seemed to leave everybody to get on with what they were doing.

Other: Loved being in the corner of the east end, Ashton gate definitely has character!
