The East End view is crap! It is certainly not great or even good. Between blocks G & H the view of the pitch is on par with quite a few away ends in the Championship. From E block [if open] you can have a lovely pitchside goal net panorma if you want it. There are no seats with views as restricted as some in the Williams. All the seats are unreserved so you do not have to sit near a pillar unless you have a penchant for metal stand supports painted red.

The seats are backless and cramped. There are no seats at all with backs on them. Certain rows have more space than any in the Atyeo or Dolman and are more spacious than those found with extra leg room in for instance Williams A [Row L]. These seats with extra room are quite numerous in the East End and will meet the telescopic leg  requirements of the Jamie McCombe like.

The East End is full of cider slurping buffoons.  Buffoonary is indeed all part of the East End  experience.

The Facilities are crap. The toilets where cueing is unnecessary are situated next to block H are better than those within the Atyeo, Dolman or Williams [Posh bit excluded maybe?] . The high class catering  is the same as the rest of the ground ……!!

The East End atmosphere is not really that good. Oh it is! Fans within the East End  take pride in the support given to Gary Johnson and the team. For a relatively small group the noise crteated within the Cow Shed I superb. If there are a simlar sized group of fans within this division who are as irrepressible as BCFC East End we have not seen them yet. Support is  constantly positive and is without the sniping of short players with surrnames beginning with J playing in central midfield only being in the team because of nepotism. Nobody entering the East End should be worried that there will be fans giving them the evils because they like to get behind City by roaring and shouting constantly for ninety minutes. Roarers and shouters are people as well and are encouraged to practice their skills further within the Cow Shed. Practice makes perfect.

All stands have their own ambience good or bad. The Cow shed has quite a enclosed feel to it with its low roof and shallow seating which creates less space for sound to dissipate upwards. Smaller space means sound will reverberate more [not less] against surfaces. This effect is known as East End Reverberation Time. EERT works in the same manner as the way sound will echo beneath a large bridge accentuating sounds . East End Reverberation Time will be increased when stands are made out of materials like sheet metal which has a high reverberation time v Concrete which possesses a low EERT. On an simple acoustic level no other stand at Ashton Gate has the advantages the East End has.

Cow Shed myths?
After a long campaign, meetings and a 3,200+ signature petition, part of the East End was back with home fans for the first time since 1994. Every club around the country has a part of the ground it considers its traditional home end be it the Kop, Stretford End, Shed ……… or East End.

The East End has a place in many people's hearts, it's the stand they grew up in and the stand where they want to continue watching Bristol City. There are numerous fans young and old who want the opportunity of watching football in the East End, but can't due to ticket restrictions. Those that are fortunate enough to be able to afford a season ticket have experienced support that is utterly positive.

Throughout the season support in the East End has improved massively. Fans act as one unified group of supporters constantly behind the team, organising flag days and rekindling old Wurzel songs like "I am a cider drinker". There has also been a change in the mindsets of some fans in other stands; many dismissed the East End as not making a difference, but interest is growing with fans now wanting to move to the East End.

The East End hasn't been open to City fans in a decade so wasn't going to be sold out overnight. The East End needs more fans to carry on its success but this "IS" slowly happening.

Many East Enders are saying that it is the most enjoyable season that they have had. Isn't this what football is all about? Going along and enjoying yourself for 90 minutes, meeting old friends and making new ones.

The profile of the club has improved in the minds of away fans and this will continue. As we make new friends in the championship, away fans are leaving Ashton Gate impressed by the incessant Carnival like atmosphere, and are starting to ask questions about their own club and why they do not have fans as vocal as Bristol City.

If Bristol City fans are given the opportunity the East End will witness support that is the envy of the division and away fans will leave Ashton Gate talking not just about our team but also how passionate our fans really are.
