St Georges day - April 23rd
Why ain't we allowed ta celebrate St Georges day proper? Is it that barking mad BM/BNP/NF/Weirdo Tory sorts have monopolised our national Flag? Is it that we should all celebrate being British what ever that be instead of English?
I ave ta lay my cards on the table an that I can't see why a day ta recognise England be such a bad idea - yet ta sum it is. I don'tunderstand why. The flag of St George has been taken, in thy past, as un insignia of right wing goose stepping  DM wearin Sieg Heiling bald heededness or ultra right wing Gayer parties who want thy whole of England clearin of anyone who is not white n English - as much as that ideal be pathetic as it is, the thought of celebratin under a date set aside fur a bank holiday brings about ideals that each n everyone who do want a national day fur England ta go on tha piss till ee can't stand then be a racist like.

If you simply say that you can't have that thur day because of certain racial stereotyping bain't  that be just as racist, reversed, as it wur? Not everyone likes thy religious overtones of a day named after a Catholic Saint Pat either sno!
Having parades in red and white, flying thy flag, parties in the street, bouncy castles- little un's all getting togethur because it is a day ta celebrate that thy live in a country that likes tradition ain't wrong.
Why we have ta have a Saint's day as a national day is a debate fur another time, but suffice it ta say that the militaristic head batterin St. George complements thee vision the political Right have of British history. In particular, it's easy ta see thee difference between the Orish celebrating St. Patrick's day un the English celebratin thy St. George's day. As nations, neither Oireland, Scotland or grass eating wooly backed Wales ave as much history of batterin other nations ta thur power. England, on thy other hand…
Is it, then be a matter that if thy celebrate un English Saint's Day you celebratin  thee bloody history of England?
IF that should be thee case then what about the defence of England by her armies throughout history - are you saying that ONLY England has a bloody past? Did the Gingers up in Scotland  not fight other clans of Sweaties armed wiv sticks and clubs ta be masters of  Scotland? What about the Oirish? They fought each other fur a little while too. And them grass eating wooly backed Welsh - so, was it only thee English who went throughout history as they'm baddies and beat thy living Granny out of thur neighbours ta make em submissive ta thee English crown?
Not quite sure that Scotland, grass eating wooly backed Wales and Oireland wud quite agree wiv thur history being written about in such a ways. Wud they have thur national day's abandoned because of thur bloody history?
Why is it that we, the English, have ta furgo sumthing that celebrates all they'm great things - thee wrongs and thy rights that we all do because a certain section of both DM wearin Seig Heiling bald heeded racists and loony lentil eating cock hating carpet munchin lesbo leftie's claim ta be right on this issue. Why be it that just being English should not be celebrated wiv zider Peepaw? Why is that just being English be bar on celebratin all things English all things that defines this great Country of ours. Why can't Peepaw celebrate our culture with its fine musical past be it the Beatles, Pistols or thy rich legacy of the Wurzels?
I am a Wurzel, and a left wing Wurzel at that who sees no paradox in flying his colours outside his farmyard - and I want a day when we all can celebrate what it is ta be English and bring in they who are not - just thee same as thy  Hairy Ginger Scot's, grass eating wooly backed Welsh and Oirish do on theym  day's they do ave.  Others do not care a jot if you are English - only ta be excluded because of what a King did in 1740 or even before. It is a day ta celebrate thur day, thur view of the world, thur aspirations and hopes, thur commonness. Tis time ta start celebrating ours too proper like. Lets ave our party leading through they'm Streets of  Bemmy too.
