The Red Goblin gets on the Soap Box !!!!! AGAIN !!!!!!!
Fellow Redzzz, Bristolians, Countrymen. I feel honoured to have again been requested to submit an article for this magnificent online Bristol City FC supporters' magazine.
As per last season, the eyes of English football are on us once again this March as we charge toward the long awaited victory of BCFC top flight football. With the recent fantastic 0-2 away victory over Reading, a well deserved Championship pray-off berth for the good ship BCFC and further mid-table Div 1 mediocrity for Irene's rapidly sinking Gas pirate ship is now the reality. As for the more recent 0-0 Blackpool home draw - where many Redzzz were expecting 3 points - Blackpool would have annihilated those Gas losers. We had loads of chances but Blackpool defended well and they could have beaten us 0-1 with any one of their very few chances. It's just amazing how they managed to stop our Red Army scoring but they seemed so desperate for points to avoid the drop into the dreaded Gas ridden division of English football.
At time of writing, we've just beaten Coventry for our magnificent fourth successive Championship win over them. Coventry now join Norwich as another club to kneel before our mighty Redzzz in defeat after a 4 match Championship losing run against us. However, God bless Coventry because they've now got our pray-off charge back on track after us faltering away at the Brummies and Derby and we all witnessed Gary Johnson do the East End bounce toward the end of that Coventry game at Ashton Gate. We're still well in the running for another Wembley appearance and these are exciting times to be a Bristol City FC supporter as the tension of the run in mounts.
I remember the packed East End during the 1970's glory years. It's a different generation now that are experiencing the delights of the East End acoustics and may they soon witness the delights of top flight football as I did. Top flight, top ranking Bristol City FC football still beckons this season as we enter the final furlongs of the pray-off place promotion run in.
Up the City - "Hasta La Victoria Siempre!" - Keep fighting and bouncing - for the victory of BCFC top flight football !!!!!!!
