Never mind the Warnocks
This is the EASTEND
Three Lions BS3 and Forza Eastend
Streamer/confetti and balloon
Display v Crystal Palace
On the day a group of fine Wurzel coves will go into the stand around 11.30 and put out the flags in the same manner as Derby, QPR, Delia City and Reading. But also put to one side tubes of streamers [32 to a tube = 832 white crepe 20 metre streamers ], nine bin bags of shredded paper, confetti and a thousand red and white balloons.
At around 2.15 ten or so people will return and proceed to hand out all the shredded /torn up paper and streamers within the blocks of the Eastend for fans to throw shortly before KO.
The streamers will need to be given out several rows back from the front of the Eastend. Any streamers thrown from the front will barely have time to open and will fly out still unraveled onto the pitch. Due to Blocks F & G normally being more populated the majority of streamers and bin bags can be concentrated there.
Please attempt to not start firing the stuff all over the stand till its meant to be or it will fall flat on its arse like that Holloways reign at Leicester City. There will be a few people at the front of the Eastend with a megaphone and two very large flags on poles in a forlorn attempt to co-ordinate this. When the players leave the tunnel wait for the two large flags to be raised then throw the streamers, shredded and ripped up paper upwards and pitchwards [FORWARD!!]. Hopefully it will all work and the streamers will not fly through the air like an exocet and maim anybody in the Dolman or the poor souls at the front of the stand. Extensive tests have been carried out so far using a BS4 alleyway. At this point we have had a 100% success rate. All streamers have all passed the rigorous Wurzel lobbing em out of his window experiment and arched perfectly into the target zone.
At half time the thousand red and white balloons donated by the Bloomfiled Inn Brislington already divided into bags of a hundred get given out by the same helpers. Fans can then to do whatever it is they do with balloons as Carey etc return for the second half. So its two displays not one.
The ten to fifteen people and anybody else willing to help will return the following day at 12.00 to clean up what will be one gert mess. The club are going to provide bags, brushes etc.
Thanks must go to Mike Pratt Bristol City FC's safety officer for his help and giving his permission for this display to go ahead.
